Any gamer in the world knows what theE3. An event that allows all members of the video game industry, from CEOs to developers, to meet and find out about the latest announcements and upcoming headlines from companies. Unfortunately, last year E3 in Los Angeles was not held due to the CoVid-19 pandemic and this year there won't be a “traditional” one for the same reason. However, theESA (Entertainment Software Association) is thinking of organize an E3 online. The question is "what will actually be offered to viewers by this all digital edition of the event?"

While ESA is determined to call the event, especially after last year's complete absence, there are significant obstacles. More than one publisher has already completely withdrawn from the event e we're talking about the likes of Sony, EA and Activision. Last year the former E3 host, Geoff keighley, took advantage of the space that was traditionally reserved for the event for his Game Summer Fest. Keighley also confirmed that the event will be held again this summer. Lack of support could prove to be a crucial element. It is not yet clear how many publishers or developers have joined this hypothetical “E3 2021 digital”. And this is not surprising, given what it costs to get a place in the programming of the event.
An E3 2021 like no other
If theESA will be able to put together the support needed to make E3 online this year, the event will be presented in a different way from any previous edition. ESA he is in fact planning something completely alternative. This year's event would host more than one presentation lasting over two hours by developers and publishers, giving everyone more than enough time to showcase their work and present the latest products to the public.
