The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, the pixel art that will steal your heart

It was May 18, 2015, when The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has forcefully entered our personal videogame ranking. So, without asking permission, mostly unaware of who that "pacioccoso" Polish gentleman named Andrej was [ed. Sapkowski], has routed our granite certainties, establishing itself in a short time as the cornerstone of any gaming library.

The origins

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, born from the pen of the Polish writer, taken in hand by the very talented developers of the software house CD Project Red, 5 years after its release, it has never stopped collecting awards and praise, thanks to its many undisputed qualities, from the very deep plot, to the characters with unparalleled charisma. This success culminated at the end of 2019, with the TV series "The Witcher", produced by the Californian giant Netflix.

Returning to the game, we hope you have played it in its entirety, enjoying the two expansions, "Hearts of Stone" and especially "Blood & Wine". Referring to the latter, you will remember one of the scenes of greatest emotional impact, where Geralt and Regis are the protagonists, at the cemetery of Mère-Lachaiselongue.

After a long and exhausting adventure Geralt and his friend the Vampire (Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy born in Touissant), they sit by the fire, sipping good wine, meditating on how many dramatic and heavy events they have experienced together and on how legitimate it was to take a little rest, turning to the camera, letting us immerse ourselves in that touching scene, as if we were part of it.

Art and Videogames

Kishi_Kun, a 21-year-old Russian animator and artist, has taken this exciting scene, transforming it into a true work of art in pixel art, which shoots a dart straight into the heart of all fans of the saga! Raise your hand (including whoever writes to you) who wouldn't buy such a romantic and retro version of the beloved Strigo without delay !? Clearly playing it in this version would return completely different sensations compared to the original, with strong references to the old school tradition of videogaming.
