Amazon Games opens a new studio in Montreal

Amazon Games has announced that it will open a new Montreal-based video game development studio. While Amazon's adventure in the world of gaming has been largely unsuccessful so far, following the cancellation of Crucible in October, the future may now look brighter. Amazon will release New World in August, after a short delay. Plus, the new studio in Montreal is an interesting twist, especially considering the names associated with it.

The new Amazon Games headquarters will be headed by Luc Bouchard as Head Producer, Romain Rimokh as Content Director and Xavier Marquis as Creative Director. These will also be joined by Alexandre Remy in the role of head of the product. The team members are known for participating in the development of Ubisoft's successful shooter: Rainbow Six Siege.

This departure from Ubisoft marks two major changes. First, the ongoing Rainbow Six Siege development will be led by a new team. This could cause major changes in the way the title is made. On the other hand, after nearly a decade of work on the highly successful tactical shooter, Bouchard, Rimokh, Remy and Marquis will be able to leverage their experience serving Amazon. While this may leave Rainbow Six Siege fans uncertain about the future of the game, the prospect of a new title being developed by this team is exciting. In any case, it could be a long time before we hear from the new studio. But Amazon Games will certainly be in good hands.

We also remind you that you can redeem some titles for free on Prime Gaming until March 31st. Here more information on this.
