The Medium will support Ray Tracing and DLSS at launch

The Medium is the highly anticipated new IP of the software house Bloober Team, an independent studio specializing in the creation of psychological horror.

The game's release on PC and Xbox Series X / S is scheduled for January 28th, after being postponed since last December.

During the event GeForce RTX: Nvidia's Game On at CES 2021 yesterday, developer Bloober Team announced its partnership with Nvidia. This will see The Medium support both Ray Tracing and Nvidia DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology, all of which will be available at launch on PC.

As for Xbox Series X, the team has ensured that Ray Tracing will be available since D1, unfortunately Xbox Series S must necessarily make some compromises, so it will not be possible to activate the new Nvidia features.

The short trailer published online shows these features in action, allowing us to see dynamic shadows and reflections on shiny surfaces or through ponds. The video shows a blend of lush and elegant environments with marble floors, detailed furnishings, but also more eerie locations.

According to Bloober Team, The Medium would not be possible on older generation consoles due to the innovative system of dual reality and I don't intend to consider it in the future either.

Pre-orders are open for Steam, Epic Games and Xbox Series X | S with a 10% discount for orders placed before launch. The orders will also grant players access to the Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski soundtrack, as well as a digital artbook.
