It's something you've never done before and, since you're not particularly knowledgeable about new technologies, you therefore don't have the faintest idea of how to proceed? No problem, just count on me.
If you allow me a few moments of your time, I can in fact illustrate you how to connect keyboard to laptop. I immediately anticipate that you won't have to do anything particularly complicated or out of your reach. How to connect a USB keyboard to laptop

If what you have is a wireless keyboard with radio frequency receiver, to be able to connect it to your laptop you must proceed as follows: make sure that the computer is on (and if not, turn it on) connect the wireless receiver to USB port free of your computer (or your adapter/hub), enter the car's battery performance inside the keyboard or recharge it using the special base and bring up ON the on/off switch on it.
