Persona 5 Royal - Treasure Demons location guide

Here's a handy guide to the location, weaknesses, and blending combinations of each Treasure Demon in Persona 5 Royal.

Meet a Treasure Demon is always a special surprise in PERSONA 5: they award a good amount of money on defeat or are otherwise a powerful ingredient in fusions if caught. The trick is to find and defeat them first, as they are quite rare and hard to beat.

How to find the treasure demons

You will meet your first demon in Madarame's palace, right after saving Mona from a laser trap. They will later begin to appear on their own, albeit rarely. In the palaces, they have a chance to pop out after you get your hands on one of the little treasures, while they will simply appear in your path like other shadows in Memento.

Factors that increase the chances of encountering a treasure demon are:

  • Memories: bad weather (rain, snow, storm, etc.)
  • Buildings: high security level (appear more when the security level is 100% during infiltrations).

You can also create an item that increases the chances of encountering demons on the work table. This builds up with the effects of bad weather or high levels of safety, so you can use it to increase the encounter rate as much as possible.

Of course, meeting a demon is not enough: you need to know its weaknesses if you want to have the chance to capture or defeat it. In order of level from lowest to highest, here are the weaknesses and locations of each Treasure Demon in Persona 5 Royal:

Melting Treasure Demons

Using the Treasure Demons as an ingredient in the persona's fusion will convey the various abilities the demon has, as well as two extra innate abilities. The resulting persona will have the same arcana as the demon fused persona, but some levels will be higher or lower.

"Levels" here refers to the hierarchy of person within an arcane family: for example, Jack-o'-Lantern, at level 2, is a lower level in the Wizard arcana than the next stronger person, Cait Sith. (at level 5).

Different treasure demons react differently to each of the major arcana families. Here is a graph of what level a merged person will be in relation to the "parent" person:

An example: Since the Queen's Necklace induces a level one upgrade in the Arcana of the Fools, the fusion of Arsenius (level 1) with this will result in Obariyon (level 8). The Crystal Skull induces an upgrade of two levels, in the same arcana, so merging it with Arsenius would result in a high Pixie (level 16).

However, unlike normal fusions, the level of the ingredient person appears to affect the level of the resulting person when merged with a Treasure Demon. If a person's level reaches that of the person one level above him in the same arcane family, he will be treated as if he were in the same level instead. If he passes that level, he will replace that person in the hierarchy.

In simpler terms:

Lvl. 1 Arsenius + Queen's Necklace (Fool +1) = lvl. 8 Obariyon

Lvl. 8 Arsenius + Queen's Necklace (Fool +1) = lvl. 16 Tall Pixie (Arsenio and Obaryion are both level 2 Fool Person)

Lvl. 8 Arsenio + Regent (Fool -1) = Impossible (Arsenio and Obariyon are both the level 2 Fool character, so there is no level 1 person to merge)

Lvl. 9 Arsenio + Regent (Fool -1) = lvl. 8 Obariyon (Arsenius is level 2 and Obariyon is level 1 because Arsenius has passed Obariyon's level)

And so on: a level 17 Arsenio will be treated as the level 3 Fool, while Obariyon and high Pixie will be level 1 and 2 characters respectively. Note that people fused by group mergers are not included in their arcana hierarchy .

Additionally, Treasure Demons offer 3 to 5 times more experience than usual when used as an offering on the scaffold and can be broken down into extremely powerful accessories. When you encounter a new Treasure Demon, be sure to capture it so you can record it in the compendium for future repeat use!
