How to set up a Steam Remote

Steam is the most popular PC video game platform where we can find a wide variety of games at very cheap prices and even for free. Many people play games downloaded from the Steam application. Configure the command in Steam

What we will do before anything else is obviously open the application. After opening it, if you look at the top left in the options menu. You will find one called ” Steam which would be the first.

Click on it and a menu with several options appears. What interests us is what is called ” Parameters ".

In the parameters menu you will find a huge number of options. If you look at the left column, almost everything underneath says: command. You have to press on this option to see more options related to it.

Configura Joystick Steam

In case a pop-up window does not appear when you click on the remote control name. What you have to do is press where it says register at the top right. When using the remote, it should work fine. In case you see that something it doesn't work as well as the joystick or trackpad . Then you should resort to the option Steam must calibrate it. We recommend that you do not use this option unless absolutely necessary.

Remap the remote in Steam

You can remap your command in Steam and it's not complicated at all. Although you must have it selected in the support part in the command settings screen. Once you have everything set up in that section, the only thing left to do is go to the game you want to play.

If you look at the main part of the application, always on the left we see the list of games that we have installed. What we have to do is go to each of those games where we want to use the command and right click on the game in question and choose the option that says Change Steam Controller Settings .

This will bring up a new window where you can see an example command with all the controls to configure as you wish. This way you can assign the desired action to any of the keys of the command in question. This you will have to do in each of the games in which you will have to remap the controls , all separately.
