YEAR: Mutationem postponed to the third quarter of 2021

It's not surprising these days if a game is postponed: after all, the CoVid-19 pandemic that caused so many difficulties for video game development studies is still in full swing. It was therefore foreseeable that Lightning Games announced that YEAR: Mutationem it would have been postponed with respect to the scheduled date.

The news isn't all that bad: even if the game looks good, judging by the trailers that have been shown so far, it's always better to wait a bit for a game to work than one that doesn't work.

YEAR: Mutationem looks like a game action-adventure with a magnificent visual appearance e with some RPG elements. Use a style that mix 2D and 3D capable of conferring a unique visual touch, but to also incorporate gameplay mechanics. Even if it doesn't have the ambitions of cyberpunk 2077, manages to capture well the aesthetics of the Cyberpunk genre, at least as seen in the demonstration material.

Obviously there is a long way to go between "looking good in a trailer" and "performing well at launch". This is why we hope that this additional time will benefit Lightning Games in order to fix any problems in the game. As reported in the announcement, the game will also be prepared for release on PS5.

YEAR: Mutationem will then come out in the third quarter of 2021 su PC, PS4 e PS5. The team showed a demo ai The Game Awards 2020 and another opportunity to preview the game could present itself at Steam Fest of this year.
